Gardaí say he was involved in a road traffic incident while riding an e-bike.

Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was travelling on Caherslee Road and Bracker O'Regan Road between 12:30am and 12:50am on Sunday and may have camera footage.

They would also like to talk to anyone who may have stopped to provide assistance to the cyclist.

The local coroner has been notified and a post-mortem will now be arranged.
