Gardai in Dublin are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Blanchardstown.

The incident happened just after midday at the Ongar Distribution Road. A  30 year old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a van.

He has been transferred to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

The man who was driving the van and another man who was a passenger in the van were not injured.

A forensic examination of the scene is being carried out.
