A debate on cuts to special education is going ahead in the Dáil tonight despite an apparent u-turn on cuts to resource teaching.
Earlier today, Ruairi Quinn appeared to row back on cuts to special education when he announced the reallocation of 500 resource teachers.
The trade union representing Special Needs Assistants says children with special needs are still facing a cut to their care this September.
IMPACT - which represents six thousand SNA's - says the care needs of children are still under huge pressure - due to a 12 percent increase in the number of children needing additional help.
