The Dáil technical group has told Mick Wallace he is not welcome to be a member.
Mr. Wallace was part of the group but left them earlier this year after admitting evading paying VAT in his construction business.
At the weekend the Wexford TD embroiled himself in more controversy after admitting threatening to hire a hitman against someone who had not paid a bill.
Today the technical group refused a request from Mick Wallace to be a member.
This also means he will no longer get Dáil speaking time.
Mr. Wallace made false VAT returns and entered a €2.1 million settlement with Revenue.
Back in June Mr. Wallace said it was cash-flow problems and aggressive and inflexible banks which led his company M.J. Wallace Ltd to under declare the VAT.
He said that he was taking steps to ensure that half of his Dáil salary went directly to the taxman to pay off what is owed.
He admitted it was an error of judgement and there was never an intention not to pay Revenue.
He added that he has considered resigning but he has ‘never been very good at quitting’.
During an address to the Dáil on June 14th he said he was answerable to the people of Wexford and they would discard him when they saw fit.
