The University of Limerick has announced a three day symposium, examining the career of iconic singer David Bowie.
The event that commences on Friday October 26th, which UL says is a world first, is being held to mark the 40th anniversary of the song “Changes”, and it’ll coincide with the University’s 40th birthday too.
‘Strange Fascination? A Symposium on David Bowie’ has drawn speakers from across the globe who will examine Bowie’s long and varied career.
It’s being organised by the Department of Sociology, and UL says it’s just the latest example of their expertise in pop culture studies having previously held similar academic conferences on the cultural influences of Morrissey and Harry Potter.
