Messages of thanks to the heroes of the COVID-19 crisis will be projected across the Mater Hospital in Dublin from tonight.
The #DearHeroes campaign offers a bold new way for people to offer their love and support to the everyday heroes and frontline workers keeping the country running through the outbreak.
People can submit their personalised messages online and see them projected loud and proud across the front of the hospital over the next four nights.
The display will also be streamed online and across social media so people can follow along from home.
#DearHeroes spokesperson Ciara Finn said anyone who wants to offer their support can submit their personalised message at DearHeroes.ie or post it on Twitter using the hashtag #DearHeroes.
“Once that message is submitted, we will project the positive message across the Mater Hospital for the healthcare workers and the patients to see,” she said.
She said the campaign aims to “boost morale during a challenging and distressing time for the nation and to give back to those who are working tirelessly to protect us all.”
“Like everyone else, we’ve been blown away by the dedication and selflessness of those who are battling at the frontline to help us through the COVID-19 outbreak,” she said.
“We wanted to use our assets and skillset so we can all show our love and admiration for them.”
The messages will be projected across the hospital and broadcast live on DearHeroes.ie from 9pm until 2am for four nights from Good Friday to Easter Monday.
