A diplomatic row is brewing between Britain and Ecuador.
The UK government is accused of threatening to enter the Ecuador embassy in London to arrest Julian Assange.
The Wikileaks founder is seeking political asylum.
He is wanted for alleged sex crimes in Sweden.
Ecuador says the time of colonialism is past and Ecuador does not belong to Britain.
A UK Foreign Office spokesman said “Under British law we can give them a week’s notice before entering the premises and the embassy will no longer have diplomatic protection”.
“But that decision has not yet been taken. We are not going to do this overnight. We want to stress that we want a diplomatically agreeable solution” he added.
Ecuador has said that a decision on the asylum application of Assange is expected today.
