Health Minister James Reilly is to brief Cabinet Ministers on the location as recommended by the Dolphin report.
Minister Reilly is expected to support a city centre location across St. James’ and the Coombe Maternity Hospitals.
It all comes 9 months after An Bord Pleanála gave their objections to the proposed Mater site.
Deadline will not be met
Yesterday he admitted that the hospital will no’t be built in time for the 2016 deadline.
Meanwhile the New Crumlin Children’s Hospital group is warning St. James’ will face planning issues.
It had been reported that the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore had carried out his own research to determine what would be the best site.
Speaking on his way into Government Buildings this morning Mr. Gilmore said he was just making sure he was informed on the issues involved.
