Heavy fighting has been reported in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo today.Thousands of rebels and regime troops are engaged in what has been described by Syria’s opposition as the ‘decisive battle’ for control of the city.
Meanwhile, the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs says emergency supplies are being sent to aid people who’ve been forced to flee the violence.
An estimated 30,000 people have been killed in the 18 month uprising to date.
