Today is going to be the day that a lot of Oasis fans unfortunately miss out on tickets following chaos online.

Tickets for Oasis’ Dublin gigs went on sale at 8am this morning – one hour before the band’s UK dates went on sale.

All tickets were sold out by roughly 8.50am, except for 'in demand' packages costing over €500.

Hundreds of thousands of people waited in Ticketmaster’s queue for both gigs, with high traffic to the site seemingly causing several major delays.

Some fans remained in the queue all morning, while others were brought to ‘error’ screens instead of ticket options.

Other fans online reported being able to select tickets – but then being brought to ‘error’ pages when trying to move on to payment.

Traffic to the website was so high that Ticketmaster enforced a queue to enter the website whatsoever.

Journalist Gavan Reilly told The Anton Savage Show Ireland's earlier 8am start could mean people from the UK and further abroad were also logging on this morning.

Oasis has warned that tickets can only be resold at face value through Ticketmaster or Twickets.

They warned that tickets appearing on other secondary ticketing sites were either counterfeit or would be cancelled by the promoters.

Recurring issues on Ticketmaster have led to some calling for tickets to be sold at venues instead of online.

Yesterday, Music and Entertainment Association of Ireland (MEAI) Spokesperson Rebecca Cappuccini told Newstalk that the monopoly Ticketmaster has isn't good for customers.

"I'm very old school in my demeanour so I always thought that being able to go to a physical locality to pre-order tickets and have a system that is people to people [is best]," she said.

"There can't be glitches, there can't be exorbitant queues - it's just the right people going to the right place at the right time.

"When we're relying so heavily on technology for things like this, it does cause problems and there's very few fixes available.”

Noel and Liam Gallagher will perform in Croke Park on August 16th and 17th.

The pair announced their 17-gig reunion tour last week after splitting up in 2009.

The Oasis Live ‘25 Tour will begin in Cardiff on July 4th before finishing in Dublin on August 17th.
