Two men remain in hospital this morning after a shooting at a construction site in County Wicklow.

It happened at a site in Delgany at around 4:30pm yesterday afternoon.

A man in his 40s was shot a number of times and has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A teenager was also assaulted during the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Gardaí are urging anyone who saw a black saloon car travelling to or from the direction of the N11 in the Delgany area between 4:15pm and 4:45pm to come forward.

They are also appealing for witnesses to the attack and in particular want to talk to anyone who was in the Bellevue Hill area between 4:15pm and 4:45pm and may have camera footage.

The Delgany construction site has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

The Garda investigation is continuing.
