The High Court has ordered rogue developer Tom McFeely to pay legal costs to Dublin City Council following the evacuation of Priory Hall.
The Court has found the local authority is entitled to the majority of its costs after the developer admitted serious defects in the Donaghmede apartment complex.
Back in the Autumn 2011 the Council applied to have all 187 Priory Hall apartments evacuated following the emergence of serious fire safety defects.
Mr. McFeely was fined €1 million and received a 3-month jail sentence. The developer subsequently successfully appealed the sentence at the Supreme Court.
On-going lawsuit
The Courts have decided that in spite of that decision there were multiple adverse findings made against Mr. McFeely and the City Council is entitled to its costs.
It is not all good news for the local authority as it still has to pay for the successful appeal of the developer.
Separately a lawsuit taken by the Council against the bankrupt businessman is on-going.
