Two Irish citizens are among the passengers from a coronavirus-hit cruise ship in Japan who have now arrived in the UK.
Around 30 British and European citizens were on the flight operated by the British government - and all of those evacuated will now spend two weeks in quarantine near Liverpool.
The flight landed at a British military base this morning after leaving Japan late on Friday.
Passengers on the flight had previously been on the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
The detection of coronavirus cases on the cruise - which has been docked in Yokohama in Japan - led to around 3,700 passengers and staff being quarantined onboard.
Over 600 of those on board have since tested positive for the virus.
This week, authorities have begun allowing people who tested negative to leave the ship.
Speaking about the repatriation effort, the UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab said: "We have brought 32 British and European citizens safely home from Japan.
"The [Foreign & Commonwealth Office] worked hard to get them back to the UK securely."
Separately, an Irish singer has confirmed she is 'healthy and safe' in Australia after being evacuated from the Diamond Princess.
Earlier this week, officials said six Irish people had been on the ship - two of whom had tested positive for COVID-19.
