Gardaí investigating the murder of Edward Nugent have appealed for public information to help them trace the movements of a silver Honda Civic on Sunday, February 15.

Nugent was murdered on the same night on Harty Avenue, Walkinstown, Dublin 12, and gardai are keen to trace the movements of the car between the houses of 6.30pm and 9.30pm that evening.

The silver Honda Civic, partial registration 04-D, is a Japanese import with distinctive alloy wheels. The car had ‘L’ plates on the passenger side of the front windscreen and on the driver’s side of the rear window.

Gardai say the Honda “was subject to an unauthorised taking from the Kilmainham area early Sunday evening”. The car was discovered burnt out on Esposito Road/John McCormack Avenue junction in Walkinstown at approximately 9.30 that night.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who observed this car between the times mentioned above or who may have information to contact them at Crumlin Garda station on 01 6666200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
