Despite hopes that efforts in Egypt would lead to a truce last night, the bombardment of Gaza intensified, while 138 rockets were fired into Israel.
Chris Gunnus works for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which distributes food to 800,000 people in the Gaza strip.
He says their work is continuing, despite the bombings:

"Dispite the air strikes and the rockets we have continued with those food distributions....We run 21 primary health clinics in gaza, and our doctors and nurses have been reporting loyally for duty in spite of the violence going on".
