The acting Transport Minister says the only thing people have been focusing on over the past few days, is the 1916 centenary commemorations.
Luas drivers have staged a 48 hour work stoppage since yesterday morning, to coincide with the State's Easter Rising commemoration events.
Last week Luas drivers voted against a proposed pay deal of almost 19%, brokered after lengthy negotiations at the Workplace Relations Commission. They cited the reduction of entrants' pay levels, increased productivity demands and a lack of trust as reasons behind declining the deal.
Four more stoppages are planned during the month of April.
