It's all change at the top of O’Connell Street - hot on the heels of the confirmed sale of the Gresham Hotel comes news that DIT is to sell the giant Cathal Brugha Street College of Catering to the rear of the hotel with a guide price of between €15m and €20m.
The complex which comprises two separate buildings, one of which is directly linked to the Gresham, offers a total of nearly 11,000 sq meters and could possibly be acquired, kitchens and all, as an extension to the hotel, or for conversion to an office block, student accommodation or apartments.
Irish and international buyers who are currently eyeing the €80 million priced Gresham Hotel are likely to take an interest in the 1940's property.
The new Luas line will pass outside. Students at Cathal Brugha and five other DIT colleges around Dublin’s city centre are moving to a new campus at Grangegorman.
