Tributes have been paid to Frankie Knuckles, the so-called 'Godfather of House Music', who has died aged 59.
The pioneering DJ played at the Ministry of Sound in London on Saturday night.
Knuckles is credited with popularising house music and worked with artists such as Pete Tong and David Morales.
Frank Warren Knuckles Jr. started his career in his hometown of New York, but rose to particular prominence after moving to Chicago in the late 70s. He released his first album Beyond the Mix in 1991, which featured the hit single The Whistle Song. He became well-known for his remixes of songs by artists such as Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.
The cause of his death in Chicago yesterday has not been confirmed.
