Dominos Pizza is paying tribute to the ‘Normal People’ of Maynooth with a new staff uniform at its newest branch.
The company said it’s new ‘Short Short’ spring/summer look was inspired by a “certain famous Maynooth export and fashion icon, who was recently tipped for Oscar glory”.
It said the stylish shorts pay homage to the to the wardrobe staple loved by generations of Gaelic fans – and is sure to be a hit given its recent popularity as an iconic fashion trend outside of sporting circles.
Domino’s Maynooth CEO George Bertram said the new uniform was “an ode to local Gaelic Football, and our local Hollywood icon”.
When asked by Newstalk whether the look was inspired by Irish Oscar nominee Paul Mescal, the company said it didn’t know who he is and insisted it was simply “paying homage to the Normal People of Maynooth.
When to confirm that all staff would be wearing the new shorts, the company said “unfortunately not” adding that one of their staff members “doesn’t have the legs for them”.
