A Donegal Co. Councillor says he thinks travellers should live in isolation.
Councillor Sean McEniff of Fianna Fáil is opposed to the purchase of a house by Donegal County Council for social housing in Ballyshannon at a cost of €230,000.
According to the Councillor the local authority plans to house 13 members of a traveller family there.
'Issue over benefits'
Mr. McEniff is also taking issue with the benefits he says are being given to travellers.
He is alleging they are left better-off than people who work and struggle to meet everyday expenses.
He told Ocean FM today that travellers should be kept together but insists he is not racist or a bigot.
