Dublin Airport has warned passengers not to be taken in by scam Facebook accounts selling ‘lost luggage’.
The adverts are described as highly realistic and insist that every three months Dublin Airport sells unclaimed luggage for only €2.
There are even a number of comments underneath with apparent happy customers and some pretend questions from potential buyers.
The DAA has confirmed there is no such thing as 'lost luggage sales' and is urging people not to hand over any personal details.
It also suggested anyone who encounters the accounts to report them to Meta for removal.
Lost and found
Lost luggage found at Dublin Airport is listed on its website, allowing passengers to 'Report a possible match' to staff.
A valid ID is required to pick up the luggage and a €10 handling fee is charged.
