Legendary Hollywood singer and actress Doris Day has died at the age of 97.
According to her charity, the Doris Day Animal Foundation, she died at her home in Camel Valley in California.
In a statement, the foundation said she was in "excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia."
The star was one of the biggest names in Hollywood in the 1950s and 60s and enjoyed a successful career spanning three decades.
She was involved in a string of successful musicals and released 29 studio albums. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 1959’s Pillow Talk.
She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W Bush in 2004.
