The DPP has received the Garda case file into the murder of Tom O'Gorman who was beaten and stabbed to death at his home in Castleknock in Dublin.
His Italian lodger Saverio Bellante is accused of killing the researcher and religious affairs writer last January.
On January 12th, Tom O'Gorman's body was found at his home at Beech Park Avenue in Castleknock.
Saverio Bellante was brought to court the following day charged with his murder and up until today, he hasn't been well enough to attend scheduled court appearances ever since.
Wearing a grey striped top, dark jeans and a beanie cap, he was brought before Judge Victor Blake just after 10.30 this morning.
Flanked by two prison officers, the 34-year-old Palermo native greeted Judge Blake before hearing that the DPP was now in possession of the Garda file into his case.
Lawyers for the DPP were given four weeks to consider the file and Mr. Bellante was remanded in further custody to appear in court again early next month for DPP's directions.
