Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses of a fatal shooting in Drimnagh earlier this month to come forward.
Three men had been arrested in connection with the killing of Josh Itseli in the early hours of May 6th but were released without charge.
Gardaí say they are investigating “all of the circumstances around his death” and are particularly looking to speak with two witnesses who could be key to the investigation.
The first is a driver of a dark-coloured saloon taxi that drove on Knocknarea Road, towards the junction with Mourne Road in Drimnagh, between 12:00am and 12:10am.
The second is a male driver of a red-coloured saloon taxi that drove on Sperrin Road between 12:00am and 12:10am.
Gardaí are also asking for anyone with information on a black Talaria Sting electric motorbike which is understood to have been used in connection with the incident.
They were alerted to the incident on May 6th after receiving a number of calls from locals in relation to ‘shots being fired’ on Knocknarea Road.
On arrival, they found two vehicles that appeared to have been in a crash and inside one was Josh Itseli who was pronounced dead at the scene.
An explosive device was also found, which was removed from the scene and made safe by an Army Explosive Ordnance Explosive (EOD) team.
