An appeal has been launched for information after a man was shot in Drogheda on Thursday night.
GardaĆ are also investigating a number of related petrol bomb attacks.
At 7.50pm a number shots were fired in Elmwood Close at Termon Abbey at the driver of a silver VW Golf.
The driver of the car, a man, was injured and presented himself to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
His gunshot injuries were not life threatening, and he has been released from hospital.
Two cars were seen driving away from the scene: a Grey Peugeot 407 - registration plate 07-C-2620 - and a Grey Honda Accord with registration 05-D-13539.
At 8.10pm, the Grey Honda Accord was reported on fire at Carstown railway bridge in Termonfeckin.
Some 25 minutes later the Grey Peugeot 407 was reported on fire at Starinagh in Collon.
Shortly after 11:30pm, two houses in the Moneymore area of Drogheda were attacked with petrol bombs.
GardaĆ say nobody was hurt.
However three homes were damaged in the first fire shortly after 11:30pm, including one house which was completely destroyed.
Superintendent Andrew Watters of Drogheda Garda station is appealing for witnesses to contact them on 041-987-4200, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
He also appealed to:
- any persons in the Elmwood Close, Termon Abbey area between 7.00pm and 8.00pm, or any person driving in the same area and who may have dash cam footage to contact them
- any person in the Carstown railway bridge, Carstown, Termonfeckin area between 8.00pm to 8.30pm or any person driving in that area or on local roads between Termon Abbey, Drogheda and Carstown who may have dashcam footage
- anyone in the Starinagh, Collon area between 8.00pm and 8.45pm or any person driving in that area or on local roads between Termon Abbey, Drogheda and Starinagh who may have dashcam footage
- any information on the whereabouts of both the Grey Peugeot 407 07-C-2620 and a Grey Honda Accord 05-D-13539 in the days prior to June 20th.
- anyone in the Moneymore area of Drogheda between 11.15pm and 12 midnight
