Passengers heading to Dublin Airport today are being warned to leave early with a protest causing heavy traffic in the areas.
The anti-immigrant protest is currently underway close to the airport roundabout.

“Due to a protest at the Airport Roundabout, traffic exiting Dublin airport is currently disrupted,” it wrote.
“Gardai are at the scene managing traffic assisted by Airport Police. Passengers travelling to and from the airport this afternoon should allow additional time if possible.”
In an update, the airport said the protest was causing congestion on both the T1 and T2 roads – and was “slowly exiting the airport campus slowly via Castlemoate Rd”.
At around 15:30, the airport said the protest had ended with traffic congestion “beginning to ease”.
Protesters have now ended their protest at the airport roundabout. The main exit from Dublin Airport to the roundabout is now fully open again. All exits are now available again. Traffic congestion is starting to ease.

It comes exactly a week after an anti-refugee protest in the same area brought traffic to a standstill at the airport.
Some passengers were forced to walk to the terminal after getting out of buses and taxis stuck in the traffic.
Gardaí attended the protest last week and put traffic diversions in place.
No arrests were made.
