Dublin Bus has received the clarification document from the Labour Court on new proposals aimed at cutting costs.

Unions at the company will now begin balloting their members - a result is not expected for around ten days.

Earlier, Transport minister Leo Varadkar and his junior colleague Alan Kelly thanked all of the parties involved in talks at the Labour Court that concluded at 5am this morning.

A three-day strike among workers ended yesterday after management and union representatives agreed to meet.

Agreement has yet to be reached in the row over the implementation of an €11.7 million savings plan.

The document produced by the Labour Court on foot of those negotiations is now being considered by both sides in the dispute, with unions to ballot their members.

400,000 customers were inconvenienced by strike action over the Bank Holiday weekend and into this week. Full services are operating today.

The Department of Transport says "Bus transport is essential to the workforce, tourists and the people of Dublin and both ministers welcome the progress that is being achieved by all at Dublin Bus, despite the difficult change process."

In a statement this morning, Dublin Bus said complex issues were dealt with at the talks thanking union representatives for engaging in the 'lengthy process' in a constructive and positive manner.

In a tweet shortly after 6am, Junior Transport Minister Alan Kelly said a final document from the Labour Court will now be published.

Nicola Cooke, Industry Correspondent with the Sunday Business Post, spoke to Newstalk's Breakfast about the latest developments:
