Dublin City Council has moved to assure consumers that its water supply is safe.

Nightly restrictions remain in place due to breakages in the public water main and a reduction in production at a treatment plant.

A seasonal algae has got into the filtration system at the plant in Roundwood and slowed down the treatment process.
