A Dublin City Library is introducing a new addition to its bookshelves: podcasting and video studios.
The offering, from The Creative Studio, will also allow users to make and record music and interviews.
There are two recording booths, offering library users a variety of audio and video recording equipment and software.
To use them, people need to fill out a request form - the library will then be in touch in due course.
Users must complete the induction session and sign an agreement form to be able to book a session in one of the studios at Ballyfermot Library.
There are two different sized studios available: one holds up to six people, the other can fit eight.
There is a mix of equipment available in each of the studios, which can include microphones, a multi-channel Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, LED lighting, a green screen and iMac computers.
Software such as Final Cut X video, Logic Pro X and Audacity is also available.
The minimum session length is 50 minutes - the maximum is two hours and 50 minutes.
Any aspiring musicians will need to bring their own musical instruments.
Dublin City Libraries says while basic assistance may be provided, the studios are essentially self-service.
"You will need some level of familiarity with recording equipment, iMac computers and the software provided.
"We will provide you with some help files and links to further resources", it adds.
