People living in Dublin have the highest disposable income in the country.
New figures from the CSO reveal that people living in the capital enjoyed an average disposable income of over 24,431 in 2016.
That is 18.4% higher the national average of €20,638.
It also marks a rise of just under €1,000 on the year before.
The only other counties to come in above the national average were Limerick, Kildare and Wicklow – with Carlow, Cork and Waterford coming in just below.
The border region had the lowest amount of disposable income at €17,370.
The CSO calculates disposable income by subtracting taxes from household income. Households must cover rent, bills, food and other necessities through “disposable” income.
