Dublin has been ranked as one of the worlds best places to busk.

It shares third place with Prague and Milan. Sydney came out on top followed by Sao Paolo.

The reasons we ranked so high is down to the authorities relaxed approach to buskers. The research, carried out by The Busking Project and Tullamore Dew, looked at how easy it was for musicians to perform and how much the government supported them.

The study also found that busking in Dublin represented "a positive expression of culture in the public space".

Some of Ireland's best-known musicians have cut their teeth performing on the streets of Dublin including, Bono, Glen Hansard and Damien Rice. Hansard, who left school at an early age, has said in the pas, "Five years on Grafton Street was the only education I ever needed."

Both the former Frames frontman and Bono perform an annual charity singalong on Grafton Street every Christmas Eve.

Who have been your favourite buskers over the years?
