A south Dublin man has offered to clean the toilets of his local community centre to make amends for causing €14,000 worth of damage there.

Christopher Tuohy of Old Church Avenue in Clondalkin was arrested after being caught leaving Clondalkin Sports Centre in November 2012.

He was spotted leaving through a fire escape wearing only his boxer shorts and carrying a fire extinguisher.

Mr. Tuohy (22) is due to be sentenced next month.
