A Dublin man has taken the stand at his trial for the murder of his friend who was stabbed in the heart, before his body was dumped in a ditch near the airport.

Alan Harte from East Wall, but with a former address at Clareville Grove in Glasnevin, denies killing father of two Peter Gunn on January 4th 2009 in Cabra Park, Cabra.

Mr. Harte (33) began giving evidence shortly before midday at the Central Criminal Court.
