Dublin has been ranked the seventh-best city in the world to visit in 2022 by Lonely Planet.
The travel guide describes the capital as "one of Europe's most down-to-earth and friendly cities".
It also suggests that “modern Dublin still has all the appeal of the city in Joyce’s day plus a host of compelling contemporary reasons to visit now”.
The number one spot has gone to Aukland in New Zealand, followed by Taipei in Taiwan and Freiburg in Germany.
Rounding out the top ten are Atlanta, Lagos, Nicosia / Lefkosia, Mérida, Florence and Gyeongju.
Tourism Minister Catherine Martin said it's a "wonderful accolade for the city".
She said: "It has been such a difficult period for our tourism industry and this is a timely reminder that Ireland and in particular Dublin remains a world class holiday destination."
Niall Gibbons, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, says the centenary of Joyce's Ulysses will be a big draw for overseas visitors next year.
He said: "The whole Georgian feel of Dublin around the 100th anniversary in 2022 is a feature [of this ranking].
"Dublin is a very vibrant city, with a lot going for it. I think ultimately it came down to the friendliness, warmth and engagement that you get around the city as well."
It comes a year after Lonely Planet described Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way as the 'ultimate road-trip'.
