Two official homecoming ceremonies for Team Ireland are to take place in Dublin today.
Many athletes including boxers Katie Taylor, John-Joe Nevin, Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan have already been given huge welcome home receptions in their local areas following their medal winnings at the London Games.
Today the achievements of all 66 members of the team will be acknowledged at civic and government events in the capital.
At 1pm Dublin Lord Mayor Naoise O’Muiri and the Minister of State for Sport Michael Ring will welcome the athletes home during an hour long event outside the Mansion House on Dawson Street.
It will be closed to traffic between 6am and 5pm.
Entry will be via Nassau Street and St. Stephen’s Green North only and people attending are advised to arrive early.
At 4pm the Taoiseach Enda Kenny will host a private reception for Team Ireland at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park.
