A restaurant in Rathmines says Dublin City Council has forced it to remove a mural aimed at supporting Palestine.

In a social media post, Shaku Maku restaurant says it's disappointed it has been forced to paint over the flag and image of a child, and replace it with a plain black wall.

"We’re so disappointed to that Dublin City Council forced us to paint over our beautiful Emmalene Blake mural," a post from Shaku Maku reads.

The post continues: "At the time of painting around 4,000 innocent children had been killed. Since then it’s around 16,000.

"But at least Dublin City council has its plain blank wall back."
