A man has been arrested over a shooting incident in west Dublin.

It happened in the Ballyfermot area this morning, when shots were allegedly fired at a house.

Three men approached a property on the Oranmore Road at around 10am, and a number of shots were allegedly fired.

One man aged in his mid-30s was detained, while a gun was also recovered at the scene.

He is currently being held at Ballyfermot garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí say investigations are continuing.
