A Cavan man has landed a fantasy book deal that rivals J.K Rowling's Harry Potter collection.
A new fantasy novel series for teens has turned very lucrative for Dave Rudden (26) from Bawnboy in County Cavan.
Redden completed his masters in creative writing at UCD and Publishers Puffin bought the rights to his three series books soon after.
Dave Rudden said, "I couldn't have wished for a better publishing partner or a more enthusiastic reaction for my debut novel. I am very excited about moving forward with Puffin and bringing the trilogy out into the world."
The fantasy adventure trilogy is aimed at youngsters aged 11 upwards and is about Denizen Hardwick, an orphaned boy who finds himself caught up in an ancient battle.
The first instalment of 'The Borrowed Dark' is due to be published in Spring 2016.
Rudden is said to be working on the second and third parts of the series.
