Graham Dwyer has released a statement following his conviction for the murder of Elaine O’Hara, in August 2012.

Mr Dwyer thanked his legal team “for their work and dedication since 2013” and his “family, friends and colleagues for their continued unwavering support throughout this period.”

Dwyer finished by thanking “members of the media”, saying he is “thankful for the privacy ... afforded (to) both my family and people close to me during the trial.” Dwyer asked that the media “continue to respect their privacy.”

He finished by saying there would be no further comment from him or his family.

The family of Elaine O'Hara released a statement earlier, saying the were "relieved justice has been served."
