Gardaí have seized around €3.1 million worth of cocaine and €353,000 in cash in Wicklow and Dublin.
In what Gardaí described as a ‘day of action’ yesterday, 37 homes, businesses and vehicles were searched as part of an investigation into a drug trafficking network.
The cocaine, which weighs 44 kg, was found after a search of a vehicle in Wicklow and a man in his 30s was arrested.
A second man, also in his 30s, was arrested after police searched a home in Clondalkin and found €213,000 in cash.
A further €140,000 in cash was found in separate searches and bank accounts containing €280,000 were frozen.
Eight vehicles, laptops and smartphones were also seized.
The operation involved Gardaí from a number of units and staff from Clondalkin, Blackrock, Dún Laoghaire, Bray and Wicklow Districts.
