€398,400 worth of drugs have been seized in Annaghdown, County Galway, following a house search on Saturday afternoon.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is being detained in Galway Garda Station.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before a special sitting of Galway District Court this morning, Sunday.
The seizure was part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks in Ireland.
Gardaí obtained a Section 26 warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977 and carried out the search at the residential property in Annaghdown, during which they seized cannabis plants and cannabis herb with an estimated combined street value of €398,400.
All of the drugs seized will now be sent for further analysis and Gardaí will continue to investigate.
