Eamon Ryan’s mother Mary has died after a tragic accident in County Galway.
The Green Party leader’s mother had an accident while holidaying on the island of Inisbofin in Connemara.
She was airlifted to Galway University Hospital where she died on Tuesday.
A death notice published on RIP said Mrs Ryan died 'unexpectedly but peacefully'.
Mrs Ryan, who lived in Sandycove in Dublin will be sadly missed by her four children and adored grandchildren.
Minister Ryan has thanked the Air Ambulance Service and the staff at University hospital Galway for their care.
Mrs Ryan’s funeral is due to take place in Glasthule this Saturday morning.
