The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has formally opened the new European headquarters for eBay and PayPal in Co. Louth.
Almost 400 people are already working at the facility in Dundalk with over one thousand more to join them by 2015. They will provide support for eBay and PayPal customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The centre will be new headquarters for the European operations and customer service of the company. It will employ a total of1,450 people.
The company also employs 2,100 people at eBay and PayPal facilities in Dublin.
eBay Inc is the parent company of PayPal and eBay Marketplaces.
The online auction retailer first came to Ireland almost 10 years ago as it continues to expand globally.

Opening the new centre at Dundalk Business Campus Taoiseach Kenny said “It is testament to the skills available in the Irish workforce and the attractiveness of doing business here that world-leading companies like eBay choose to invest in Ireland on a long-term basis".
The team in Dundalk provides customer support in seven languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish and Russian.
PayPal President David Marcus says the new facility will serve tens of millions of customers.
