Sheeran tweeted a picture from the performance saying that these gigs are the best ones of the year. He is pictured standing on a small round table in the middle of delighted cheering fans.

Sheeran played his acoustic gig as part of the Ruby Sessions, which are charity gigs held every week in Doyles pub for the Simon Community and Oxfam.

Sheeran has played Ruby Sessions several times already and other performances in the past include Paulo Nutini, Kodaline and James Blunt.

The 23-year-old singer will be appearing and playing live in HMV's Henry Street store today at 12pm as part of his promotional tour.
