English pop singer Ed Sheeran will play Croke Park on July 24.

The singer made the announcement on Ryan Tubridy's 2FM show this morning.

After a recent gig in Whelan's, Sheeran said he "just felt like I needed to play in Dublin again this year" and expressed his delight at being able to play such a significant venue:

"They don’t do many concerts so I never expected to play there."

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 26 February at 9am.
