The inquest into the death of Eddie Hutch Senior has been adjourned after Gardaí said there had been some advancement in their investigation.

The 58-year-old brother of Gerry ‘the Monk’ Hutch was shot dead outside his home in Dublin’s North Inner city in February 2016.

The father of five was shot several times as he pulled up outside his home on February 8th.

The attack occurred just days after the murder of senior Kinahan Cartel member David Byrne in the Regency Hotel shooting.

A Garda Inspector this morning told Dublin’s Coroner Court that there has been some advancement in the investigation into Mr Hutch’s death in recent months.

He asked for the inquest to be adjourned for a further six months.

This was granted and the case is due back before the Coroner in March.
