Twelve people, including eight schoolchildren, have been taken to hospital after a crash involving a truck and school bus in Kilkenny.
It happened N77 at Ardloo this morning.
Eight children and two adult passengers on the bus were removed from the scene by ambulance to St Lukes General Hospital, Kilkenny for treatment and assessment.
Their injuries are described as not life-threatening.
A man in his 40s who was driving the lorry was airlifted to Tallaght University Hospital with serious injuries.
The bus driver, a man in his 50s, was removed to Midland Regional Hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene is undergoing a forensic examination and traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were in the area at the time of the crash and may have dashcam footage.
