An elderly man has died after the car he was driving crashed in Kerrykeel, County Donegal this afternoon.

The crash took place at around 3.30pm on the Shore Road.

The road will remain closed overnight ahead of a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The body of the driver, who was in his 60s, will undergo a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are especially interested in anyone with any dash cam footage.
