A man in his 70s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Roscommon. 

Gardaí said the crash happened shortly before 2pm yesterday, January 27th, on a local road in Frenchpark. 

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his 70s, was taken by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital. 

He was later pronounced dead. 

The scene of the crash is currently being preserved for forensic examination by Gardaí and local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí in Roscommon are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. 

Any road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - and were travelling in Frenchpark are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
