A man in his 70s has died after being hit by a car in County Limerick.
Gardaí said it happened on the N69 Glin to Tarbert Road at around 10pm yesterday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Limerick Hospital.
A post-mortem is now due to take place.
Investigators said no one else was injured in the incident.
They are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and are particularly interested in talking to road users who were on the N69 between Glin and Tarbert between 9pm and 10:15pm and may have camera footage.
The road remains closed while Gardaí carry out forensic investigations and local diversions are in place.
